Detailed Itinerary
Your Tanzanian adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi, or directly from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). You will drive southwest towards Tarangire National Park, known as the “Land of Giants.” As you enter the park, the landscape transforms into a dramatic vista of grassy savannah dotted with ancient, bulbous baobab trees and towering termite mounds. This park hosts the largest concentration of elephants in the region, alongside tree-climbing lions and pythons that can often be seen coiled in the branches of acacia trees. You will spend a full-day game drive exploring this wildlife-rich park, enjoying a picnic lunch surrounded by the sounds of the African bush. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and drive to your comfortable accommodation for a relaxing evening.
Meal: Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Pazuri Inn
After breakfast, you will depart and travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands toward Serengeti National Park. The drive is incredibly scenic as you ascend the Great Rift Valley escarpment, crossing the cool, green highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will stop at the crater rim viewpoint for a breathtaking photo opportunity overlooking the magnificent caldera before descending onto the vast plains. As you pass Naabi Hill Gate, the trees disappear, replaced by the “endless plains” that give the park its name. You will spend full-day game drives across this iconic landscape, searching for the Great Migration herds (seasonal) and resident predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs. As the sun sets over the golden savannah, you will arrive at your lodge for a well-deserved rest.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Marera Valley Lodge
Rise early for a sunrise game drive in the Serengeti, capturing the golden light over the endless plains and observing the morning activity of predators returning from their night hunts. This is your final chance to track any wildlife you may have missed and to soak in the magic of the Serengeti. After breakfast, you will bid farewell to the plains and drive back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This return journey offers a second chance to spot wildlife across the plains, such as hyenas and jackals, before you ascend back into the crater highlands. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at your accommodation, where you can enjoy spectacular sunset views over the crater rim from your camp.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Land of Nature Tented Camp
You will start this final day very early with a dawn descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife destinations. This 22.5 km-wide volcanic caldera is a self-contained ecosystem teeming with approximately 30,000 animals, including the Big Five. You will spend the morning exploring the crater floor, with high chances of spotting lions, hyenas, elephants, buffalo, and the critically endangered Black Rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, with the towering crater walls forming your spectacular backdrop, while watching flamingos dot the soda lakes. In the afternoon, you will ascend the steep crater walls and begin the drive back to Arusha, where you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward travel arrangements. This marks the end of your unforgettable safari experience.
