Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Day: Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha (1 hour)

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your private Sauti Africa Safaris professional guide and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha town. On a clear day, you may catch a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peak from the tarmac. Spend a relaxing evening preparing your photographic equipment, clearing jet lag, and attending a dedicated safari briefing at your boutique hotel nestled at the foot of Mount Meru.

Day 2: Arusha – Bush Flight to Ndutu (Southern Serengeti)

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and transferring to Arusha Airstrip. Avoid long driving hours by boarding a scheduled light aircraft bush flight flying directly to the Ndutu plains (approx. 1.5 hours). Upon landing, meet your open-sided photographic 4×4 vehicle and transfer to your luxury permanent tented camp near the calving areas, checking in just in time for a fresh lunch. To guarantee optimal recovery from travel, the entire afternoon is yours to settle into your suite, organize lenses, and rest. In the late afternoon, enjoy a relaxed golden hour game drive around the acacia woodlands, scouting for early predator activity as the sun begins to set over the plains.

Day 3: Southern Serengeti (Ndutu Area) – Calving Season & Predator Action

Arrive at your new premium camp in time for a fresh lunch, followed by a completely open afternoon to rest in your tent and review your field photographs, preparing for the next phase of your photographic adventure.

Day 7: Eastern Serengeti – Predator & Big Cat Photography

Your photography drives will focus heavily on locating leopards hidden in the riverine trees and cheetah prides navigating the open plains. Capitalize on the dramatic eastern sunrise landscapes to capture timeless silhouettes of elephants and walking predators against the vast horizon. The day is designed to maximize your time viewing the interactions of these majestic felines in their natural habitat.

Your guide will use their expertise to adapt to wildlife movements, ensuring you experience the best of what the Eastern Serengeti has to offer. Day 10: Eastern Serengeti – Bush Flight to Arusha – Departure

Capture a final early morning golden hour session in the Serengeti before transferring to the local airstrip. Board your domestic light aircraft flight flying across the Great Rift Valley back to Arusha town (approx. 1.5 hours). Upon arrival at Arusha Airstrip, transfer directly to Arusha Coffee Lodge to enjoy a relaxed, premium farewell lunch amidst the historic coffee trees. Following lunch, your final logistics depend entirely on your outward international flight timing: Transfer directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your evening international flight home.

Important Flight Note: Please note that your safari ends at approximately 18:00 hours at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Please plan your outbound flight to depart after 20:00 hours for domestic flights and 21:00 hours for International Flights. If you have an earlier flight, please consider adding an extra night in Arusha.
