Detailed Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport, your personal driver-guide will warmly welcome you with chilled bottled water. Enjoy a scenic 1 hr 30 min drive (72 km) through lush landscapes and coffee estates to Forest Hill Hotel on the outskirts of Arusha. After check-in, settle in and relax with the sounds of nature. Dinner is on your own at the hotel’s garden restaurant.
After a fresh buffet breakfast, depart at 8:00 AM for a 2-hour journey (120 km) to Tarangire National Park. Enter the park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch beneath ancient acacias. Keep an eye out for large elephant herds, tree-climbing lions, and majestic baobab trees. In the late afternoon, continue 1.5 hours (70 km) to Mvuli Mountain Lodge, located in Karatu near the Ngorongoro foothills.
After breakfast, set off for a 5-hour drive (180 km) to Lake Natron, passing Engaruka ruins and dramatic Great Rift Valley cliffs. Stop for a picnic lunch en route. On arrival, visit Ngarasero Waterfalls for a swim and enjoy a lakeshore walk to see thousands of flamingos. Arrive at Africa Safari Lake Natron Lodge by sunset, followed by a volcano talk and dinner.
Begin with a sunrise game drive tracking the Great Migration or resident predators. Learn from your guide during short conservation talks. Continue exploring Central Serengeti’s river valleys, kopjes, and hippo pools. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush and return to camp by evening.
Leave Serengeti after breakfast and drive 3.5 hours (180 km) to Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the caldera for a half-day safari among lions, rhinos, and flamingos. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the hippo pool. In the afternoon, exit the crater and continue 45 minutes (30 km) to Mvuli Mountain Lodge in Karatu for the night.
After breakfast, drive 1.5 hours (60 km) to Lake Eyasi for a cultural immersion with the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers. Learn their unique way of life—tracking, bow hunting, and fire-making. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake before returning to Mvuli Mountain Lodge.
Enjoy a morning at leisure with breakfast, packing, or exploring the Arusha market. At 11:00 AM, transfer to Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport according to your flight schedule. For early departures, a packed breakfast is available.
