Detailed Itinerary

Upon arrival at Zanzibar International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted with chilled mineral water and transferred via private vehicle on a scenic 1 hour 30-minute drive to the northern coast, arriving at The Zanzibari Boutique Hotel in Nungwi. Check in with a refreshing welcome drink and settle into your beachfront haven. Your first evening concludes with a relaxed ocean-view dinner at the hotel’s terrace restaurant.

Wake up to the sound of waves and a tropical breakfast served with ocean views. Spend your first full day unwinding by the resort’s private beach or pool. Optional activities like paddleboarding, jet skiing, or a beachfront massage can be arranged in advance. In the evening, enjoy sunset cocktails followed by a candlelit seafood dinner on the sand.

After breakfast, depart at 8:00 AM for a 1.5-hour transfer to Stone Town. First, board a dhow boat for a short cruise to Prison Island, home to centuries-old Aldabra tortoises and historic colonial ruins. Return by mid-morning for a guided walking tour through Stone Town’s cultural corridors—explore the Old Slave Market, House of Wonders, and buzzing local markets. Enjoy lunch at a heritage café, then enjoy time for souvenir shopping or a visit to the Sultan’s Palace. Return to the hotel by early evening for dinner under the stars.

Depart after breakfast for a journey into Zanzibar’s countryside to explore one of the island’s famous spice farms. Learn about—and taste—cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, and exotic fruits. After your spice-infused experience, enjoy lunch in a local farm setting. In the afternoon, head to Nakupenda Sandbank, a dreamy stretch of white sand surrounded by turquoise waters. Swim, snorkel, or simply relax before returning to the resort.

Start with a slow morning and breakfast with panoramic views. Then, head into Nungwi village or nearby Kidoti for a cultural cooking class. Shop for fresh ingredients in the local market and learn how to prepare traditional dishes like samaki wa kupaka (grilled fish in coconut sauce), pilau, and mandazi. Enjoy your lunch in a communal setting, followed by a relaxing afternoon at the beach or spa. In the evening, dine on Swahili-inspired dishes at the hotel accompanied by soft live taarab or coastal music.

Depart early after breakfast for a 2-hour transfer to Fumba village for the full-day Safari Blue experience. Board a dhow and cruise through Menai Bay Marine Reserve. Stop at sandbanks, snorkel in vibrant reefs, and enjoy a seafood barbecue lunch on Kwale Island surrounded by baobabs. Return to the resort in the late afternoon. In the evening, set sail once more—this time for a private sunset dinner cruise near Nungwi. Dine aboard a dhow with curated Swahili-fusion dishes, wine, and golden views of the Indian Ocean as your trip nears its close.

Spend a leisurely morning enjoying a final swim, spa treatment, or beach walk before packing and checking out by 11:00 AM. Then transfer to the airport, with a packed breakfast available if needed.
