After breakfast, you will depart Arusha and drive southwest towards Tarangire National Park. As you enter the park, the landscape transforms into a dramatic vista of grassy savannah dotted with ancient, bulbous baobab trees and towering termite mounds. Known as the “Elephant Playground,” this park hosts the largest concentration of elephants in the region. You will spend a full day game driving with a picnic lunch inside the park, watching family herds dig for water in the riverbeds and spotting other residents like giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and the rare fringe-eared oryx. In the late afternoon, you will exit the park and drive to your lodge in the Karatu area, nestled in the lush highlands near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

After breakfast, you will depart Karatu and travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands toward Serengeti National Park. The drive is incredibly scenic as you ascend the Great Rift Valley escarpment, crossing the cool, green highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will stop at the crater rim viewpoint for a breathtaking look at the caldera before descending onto the vast plains. As you pass Naabi Hill Gate, the trees disappear, replaced by the “endless plains” that give the park its name. The drive to the Central Seronera area serves as your first game drive in the park, offering chances to spot hyenas, zebras, and gazelles before arriving at your luxury tented camp in the late afternoon. Enjoy the sounds of the African bush as you settle in for the evening.

Enjoy a final sunrise safari in the Serengeti, tracking any wildlife you may have missed during your previous game drives. This is your last chance to capture the golden light over the endless plains and observe the morning activity of predators returning from their night hunts. After breakfast, you will bid farewell to the Serengeti and drive back towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, continuing your game drive en route. This return journey offers a second chance to spot wildlife across the plains, such as hyenas and jackals, before you ascend back into the crater highlands. You will arrive at your lodge in Karatu in the late afternoon, with time to relax and reflect on your Serengeti experiences.

You will start this day very early to maximize your time in the Ngorongoro Crater. It is a short drive from Karatu to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate, where you will descend 600 meters to the crater floor. This ancient volcanic caldera is a self-contained ecosystem teeming with wildlife, including the Big Five. You will spend the morning exploring the crater floor, with high chances of spotting lions, hyenas, elephants, and the critically endangered Black Rhino. After a picnic lunch near the hippo pool, you will ascend the steep walls and begin the drive towards Arusha. Arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon, where a day room has been reserved for you to freshen up, relax, and prepare for your departure.

After a relaxed breakfast, you will have some free time to enjoy your final morning in Tanzania. Depending on your flight schedule, optional stops may include visiting local markets or souvenir shopping for last-minute keepsakes. Your guide will then transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your outbound flight. This marks the end of your unforgettable Sauti Africa Safaris cultural and wildlife safari experience.
